TOEFL Prep Courses in Albuquerque (New Mexico)
Albuquerque is a city with a high number of ESL students whose first language is Spanish, and who are looking to learn English to prepare themselves for the curriculums of their future educational and career endeavors. Learning a new language is always a difficult procedure, and the inconsistent rules of the English language makes the process of learning the language on your own a potentially intimidating process for anyone who is looking to take the TOEFL or IELTS exam to prepare for university. Manhattan Review can help anyone who is looking to improve their English skills via preparation methods we have been refining since 1999. Albuquerque students looking to apply to universities within the United States and demonstrate that they have acquired a well-rounded knowledge of the English language are advised to take the TOEFL, the more popular of the two tests within the academic institutions of the United States.
While both the TOEFL and the IELTS are tests used to test people's grasp of the English language, the TOEFL has a more academic focus and is more generally accepted in the US when compared to the IELTS, which is more popular in the United Kingdom and has a more conversational focus to its test material. However, an increasing number of universities both in and out of the United States are accepting both the TOEFL and the IELTS as potential exams for ESL students, so an important part of the process in learning the English language is also researching which of the two exams is best for the program you are looking to apply for. Manhattan Review can offer a variety of resources for the TOEFL, including group courses that allow you to work with other students learning the language, private tutoring that allows you to customize your methods of learning and gives you an individual mentor in the process, and a variety of practice exams we keep updated to reflect the current state of the exam.
TOEFL exam students who have used Manhattan Review's services and practice tests to prepare for the TOEFL exam have a strong track record of meeting the scoring requirements to demonstrate a strong grasp of the language and get into prestigious universities as a result. In the United States, students who have worked on the TOEFL with Manhattan Review have gone on to a wide variety of prestigious schools that include Harvard, Brown, Yale, Carnegie Mellon, Dartmouth, and more. They have also been able to launch highly successful careers at major companies or launch their own businesses once they have learned the language. Meet an Albuquerque TOEFL Tutor: Gordon G.
Gordon grew up in a bilingual household that spoke both English and Spanish, and while he was in the process of gaining his teaching degree, he tutored students who were in the process of taking the TOEFL to apply to colleges. His knowledge of Spanish makes him particularly useful and capable of assisting others in the Spanish-speaking parts of Albuquerque.
Gordon firmly believes that immersing students in the English language is the best way to learn it, and encourages his students to take up as many opportunities as they can to learn English in an everyday set of circumstances on top of the tutoring he provides his students. When he is not teaching students English, Gordon likes to spend his time at concerts.
