Meet a Bern ACT Tutor: Marjatta R.

Marjatta R. was born in Helsinki and lived there for the first twelve years of her life until her mother was offered an exciting job opportunity in California. An advanced reader from an early age, Marjatta loved books and read everything she could get her hands on. Marjatta planned to one day become a professional editor, but she knew such an important position would start with obtaining the best undergraduate education possible. Marjatta participated in a classroom-style group prep course, and her hard work was rewarded with an impressively high ACT score. Marjatta chose to attend the University of California at Los Angeles, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in English. She then completed a master's degree in education at Syracuse University before accepting a position with a well-known publishing house.

When Marjatta's boyfriend accepted a new job in Bern, she was excited to relocate, and she soon began offering online writing workshops for high school students preparing for college entrance exams, in addition to her continuing her freelance editorial work.
