Meet a Charlotte TOEFL Tutor: Lauren E.
Growing in the NoDa (North Davidson) neighborhood of Charlotte, Lauren was exposed to lots of art and culture from a very young age. The sense of culture undoubtedly translated to a love for all the unique diversity that was present in Charlotte throughout her childhood and into adulthood. Lauren decided at an early age that she wanted work in a field that would give her the opportunity to work with diverse people, like the kinds of people she learned about and saw growing up. Initially, her career goals led her down the path of college instruction at her alma mater of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and within nearly ten years she had become a TOEFL private tutor at Manhattan Review.
Since joining Manhattan Review in 2011, Lauren has been instrumental in leading our TOEFL test prep services in Charlotte. Our students love working with Lauren because she has extensive experience in the area of instruction, as she works full time as an English college professor and has a deep sense of cultural understanding, a likely byproduct of her childhood and continued exploration as an adult, something she and her husband, Matt, work to pass on to her two young children, Brie and Bryan. Lauren often split weekends between her old neighborhood of NoDa and downtown Charlotte with their children, to expose them to as much as possible. Manhattan Review is proud to have someone like Lauren, who is so deeply connected to her city and shares an even deeper interest in helping students master the English language.
