Meet a Dayton Tutor: Jason S.

Jason S. grew up in Columbus but visited Dayton frequently as a child. He knew from an early age he wanted to pursue a career as a professional educator, and he worked very hard to obtain good grades and strong test scores in high school. Jason obtained an impressive SAT score and chose to attend the University of Chicago, where he majored in education. He worked as a tutor in the university's learning center for five semesters, helping others who didn't find math as easy as he did. He then went on to earn a master's degree in education from the University of California at Los Angeles before accepting a position as a math teacher at a Dayton high school.

Jason loved the work he did and received many promotions, but soon found himself missing the direct interaction he had enjoyed with students. He soon joined the team at Manhattan Review, and students praise his strong quantitative reasoning skills, as well as his patient instruction.
