In order to study at the leading business programs, you will need an impressive GMAT score, and helping motivated students obtain impressive test scores is exactly what we do at Manhattan Review. When it comes to learning, many students perform perfectly well in classroom-style group courses, finding others' questions and comments insightful and inspiring. Other students, however, know that they do not perform to their full capabilities when attempting to learn complex material in the company of others. These students may worry about holding the group back or slowing them down; alternatively, they may experience frustration or boredom when they have mastered a particular concept but are unable to move on to a new topic until everyone in the group has demonstrated similar mastery. If you know you learn best through a customized learning plan delivered via one-on-one instruction, we invite you to consider working with one of our world-class private tutors.

At Manhattan Review, we have helped countless aspiring MBAs master the GMAT, and we are proud to offer you industry-leading tools and educational techniques intentionally designed to raise your score while also improving your test-taking confidence. Now, more than ever, a high GMAT score is incredibly important, and the highest scores unquestionably open doors for students and professionals looking to take their success to the next level. The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the organization responsible for the administration of the GMAT, tracks and reports statistical information about test-takers, studying them as a whole while also dividing them into subgroups. Total GMAT scores range from 200 to 800, and roughly two-thirds of test-takers will score between 400 and 600. According to the available statistics, the mean GMAT total score for all test-takers is 574. Top business programs around the world require very high GMAT scores. For example, the University of Texas at Austin, repeatedly ranked as one of the best business schools in the world, regularly has an incoming first-year class with average GMAT scores falling in the range of 650-740. When preparing your application to the business program of your dreams, make sure you stand out from the competition with application materials that shine.

GMAT Prep Course Calgary - Photo of Student Martin

I took the GMAT today and got an unofficial score of 720 (47 quantitative / 42 verbal)! I'm quite satisfied, given the short time I had to prepare.

Meet a Calgary GMAT Tutor: Nick B.

Nick B. grew up in Vancouver and dreamed of one day attending college far away. "There were a lot of things I loved about Vancouver," he is quick to explain, "but after living there my entire life surrounded by the same people I'd grown up with, I was ready for a change and to do something completely on my own." While Nick's parents told him not to discount something just because it was familiar, they were also supportive of his big dreams and were open to him attending college wherever he chose, so long as he obtained a quality education. Nick worked very hard during high school, taking advanced courses and completing extra credit projects while also being an avid athlete and a leader in student government. Nick obtained an impressively high SAT score and combined with his high grades and extensive extracurricular activities, he was accepted to numerous colleges across the United States and Canada. While his parents were sad to see him move way, they also fully supported his decision to attend Dartmouth University more than three thousand miles away.

Nick loved his time at Dartmouth, obtaining an undergraduate degree in business administration, and when it came time to prepare for the GMAT, he sought the services of a respected local tutor, "just to ensure I wasn't overlooking anything." Nick credits working with his tutor for his ability to manage his time, as well as his test-related anxiety. "I've always hated tests," he shares, "but once my tutor taught me how to break down questions and find answers, I realized the GMAT wasn't as terrifying as I'd initially thought." Nick performed exceptionally well on the GMAT, scoring in the 98th percentile, and he received countless offers of admission from leading business programs around the world. Nick decided to remain on the East Coast and chose to attend Duke University, where he also had the opportunity to engage in student teaching and peer tutoring. Nick was surprised to discover how much he enjoyed helping other students and after graduating with his MBA, he accepted a position with a leading global corporation that allowed him to remain in North Carolina and complete a master's degree in teaching from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

After completing his teaching degree, Nick hoped to find a way to pair his love of the business world with his love of teaching, and when his company gave him the opportunity to train financial managers at various branches through seminars and workshops, he gladly accepted. During his travels, Nick spent time in Calgary and fell in love with the local beauty, as well as the plethora of outdoor activities available year-round. He eventually relocated to Calgary, and while he enjoyed mentoring new hires and training recently graduated MBAs, he wanted to help make a difference earlier in students' lives, ensuring they found the career and the success they deserved. When an opening arose at the Calgary office of Manhattan Review, Nick applied and found the perfect way to combine his passion for business and teaching. Nick's students appreciate his patience, as well as his ability to translate his experiences into valuable lessons. When Nick isn't helping the next generation of business leaders obtain impressive GMAT scores, he can be found enjoying the murals comprising the Beltline Urban Murals Project, skiing with friends, and trying out new restaurants in search of the perfect steak.
