Meet a Champaign GMAT Tutor: Vera P.

Vera P. was born and raised in Tennessee. She had a strong interest in math from an early age and hoped to one day establish herself in a finance-related career. She obtained an undergraduate degree in business from Vanderbilt University and during her four years there, she worked part-time as a math and statistics tutor in the university's learning center, helping others who didn't find numbers quite as enjoyable as she did. Vera knew being accepted to a prestigious MBA program would be difficult, so she prepared for the GMAT with a private tutor, ensuring she could quickly solve problems while effectively managing her time. Vera's dedication was rewarded when she received a very high GMAT score, and she went on to obtain her MBA from the University of Virginia.

After graduating, Vera accepted a position at a global biotech company with a new office in Champaign. After a decade of working in the finance division, she began to search for ways to connect with business professionals earlier in their careers.
