Meet a Ho Chi Minh City GRE Tutor: Janet L.
Janet L. grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where she discovered a passion for math and science at an early age. She worked very hard in school and her high grades, combined with an impressive SAT score, earned her acceptance at Vanderbilt University. She completed an undergraduate degree in mathematics with a minor in computer science. During her time at Vanderbilt, she worked part-time as a tutor helping others understand courses and concepts that came easily to her. Knowing she wanted to obtain a graduate degree, Janet took preparing for the GRE very seriously, and her dedication was rewarded with a high score that opened important academic doors. Janet obtained a master's degree in computational and applied mathematics from the University of Chicago, consistently ranked among the best graduate programs in the world.
After graduating, Janet accepted a position with a large international cyber security company. She was thrilled to relocate to Ho Chi Minh City and hoped to find ways to continue working with students while establishing her career. When a rare position for an experienced tutor opened up at the local Manhattan Review office, Janet applied and was instantly a great fit. Her students appreciate her thorough knowledge of quantitative reasoning skills, as well as her patience when explaining complex information. When she isn't helping future graduate students master the GRE, Janet can be found performing karaoke with friends and working on her fencing skills.
