When planning and preparing for the GRE, it is always a good idea to have an idea of your goal score before exam day. The average GRE score lands between 150-152, but, this is not the end of the story. Of course, not every person who takes the GRE goes on to be accepted (or even apply) to a graduate program. It is more useful to research the program or programs and find the average GRE scores of the most recent incoming class. This will give you a clearer picture of the GRE score you will need to gain admission. More elite programs will have a higher average score, both because they are looking for more advanced students and simply because the caliber of applications is higher on a whole, giving them the opportunity to accept students with high-percentile scores. Our learning coaches are ready to work with you in order to help you find your weak spots as well as show you how to take advantage of your strengths. While some students prefer the dynamic atmosphere of a group course, others find more success in learning in an environment void of distractions and customized to their personal needs. Our private tutors are happy to work with you individually to create a personalized plan and execute it to help you reach your academic goals.

Meet a Long Beach GRE Tutor: Erica F.
Erica F. has known from the beginning that she loves working with people. Never confused for an introvert, Erica loves the dynamic energy that naturally occurs when people from different backgrounds and points of view get together to work on a common goal. After earning her bachelor's in social work from the University of Chicago, Erica went on to get her master's at Berkeley. She decided to start GRE tutoring while attending Berkeley and found that the connection she had with her students gave her great joy. After moving to Long Beach in 2014 to work as a social worker, she joined the Manhattan Review team and has continued working with local students ever since.
Erica's students can't help but feed off her positive energy and enthusiasm. They love that she uses various methods to teach information and always has an interactive learning plan. She is always prepared to answer questions and break down difficult concepts. When Erica is not teaching or working, she enjoys tending to her vegetable garden and reading.
