GRE Prep Course Minneapolis - Photo of Student Tamara

I would like to let you know that I took the GRE on Monday, December 6th and earned a score of 1200 (600 verbal, 600 quantitative). I think that I did very well on the essay portion of the test as well but won't receive those scores in the mail for a couple weeks or so. I would like to thank my instructor (George S.) and Manhattan Review for helping me to increase my score so much (I got a 1050 the first time I took the GRE in 2002) Thank you very much.

Meet a Minneapolis GRE Tutor: Walter W.

Walter, who grew up in Minneapolis, enjoyed academic success before he began tutoring full-time. A graduate of the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, Walter has a concentration in Consulting and a heart for tutoring. A forever learner, Walter enjoys keeping his mind sharp through reading and he always has a list of books on his Kindle.

Walter's alma mater had a strategy in which they restricted the ratio of students to teacher to a maximum of 5:1. He fully embraces this philosophy and if he has a larger classroom, he will break it up into smaller groups. He is known for being a sports enthusiast and calls the smaller groups 'teams'. Each team is responsible for a certain topic each day and teaching the others what they learned. Teaching others is one of the best ways to learn, so says Walter. It must work as his students continually produce top scores on the GRE year in and year out.

While Walter loves to read and teach, his third love has to be basketball. He carries a ball with him around the classroom and will pass it to the students to keep their attention and have them answer a question. He equally loves watching the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynx basketball teams at the Target Center. The WNBA Minnesota Lynx have been the most successful Minnesota sports team in recent years, reaching the finals three years in a row. Walter was there to cheer them on every step of the way.
