I wanted to thank you for teaching my class and being such a dedicated instructor. When I first started studying for the GRE I was doing it from complete scratch as I had not done this type of math in many years. I was scoring in the low 300's, and was having trouble with some of the quick math necessary to do well on the test. Our class helped me figure out how to break down problems into commonly found concepts and to quickly do the computation to answer them (by, for example, factoring). I took the GRE this past Friday and scored a 720 in math -- much higher than I had originally hoped for when I started studying. I know your going the extra mile to help, both in tutoring and in class, really made a difference to my score. Thanks again!

Meet a New Orleans GRE Tutor: Walter W.
Walter, a New Orleans's born success, is enjoying passing down the torch to incoming freshman in his hometown. He moved across the country and graduated at the top of his class from Stanford University with a concentration in Communication Studies. Although the sunny skies and beaches on the California coast were beautiful, Walter's heart for Creole food and culture eventually brought him back to the Crescent City after graduate school.
Forever a student and lover of learning, Walter's tutoring strategy for the GRE reflects the alma matter of his Master's degree; Goizeuta Business School at Emory University. They believed a close relationship between teacher and student is most beneficial to learning and restricts the ratio to a 5:1 maximum. If Walter has a larger classroom, he breaks down the group into smaller groups for a more hands on, interactive learning approach. In particular, he enjoys having each group take on a subject to teach for the day; and each student is given a lesson within each group. They are responsible for the comprehension of their fellow students on their lesson. Teaching is the best form of instruction, so Walter says.
During his time as a professional tutor, Walter has assisted over 400 future MBA's. If he is not in the classroom, Walter enjoys his favorite Creole restaurant, the Original Pierre Mastero's. He attends the Jazz festival every spring and gets the VIP pass so he can meet all his favorite bands and artists. Walter is a business minded genius with a flare for New Orleans's culture that keeps him grounded and enamored with his city.
