Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic, education-oriented professional, to join our team as an academic program advisor. They will consult with prospective and current clients and discuss our entire program offerings designed to assist students reach admittance into the college/graduate/law and business school of their dreams. This position is a good fit for someone who is highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated and would like to join a high growth boutique firm by taking initiative and learning and working with minimal supervision in a driven and dynamic team setting.
Please note, this position is open to both part-time and full-time applicants. Given the nature of the test prep business, our international clientele and our current staffing, the working hours will be primarily weekday evenings (from 4pm to 8pm EST) and Saturdays and Sundays. Availability on the weekend when many of our test prep classes are taking place, is crucial for this job. Specific duties include primarily coordination of daily international and domestic telephonic and email correspondence to ensure a thorough and persuasive response to prospective customers and existing clients with regard to selling our preparation programs and coordination with teachers for various info events and class schedules.

Job Qualifications:
We are looking for recent college graduates, current graduate students or young professionals with advanced degrees who have had previous experience with individual client management or sales/marketing in general. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both written and otherwise, to deliver professional, courteous, accurate and persuasive responses to prospective and existing clients. Familiarity with computer programs in general and MS Office programs (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is mandatory. Given that our services are offered worldwide, we require a certain level of willingness to work flexible hours.
We consider the following as highly beneficial when evaluating candidates:
- A history of being punctual, responsible and reliable.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with an understanding of proper phone etiquette.
- A track record of excellent corporate sales/marketing experience.
- Prior experience with educational services companies and providing academic guidance on the phone.
- Motivated, detail-oriented and enthusiastic about her/his work.
Compensation:
Total $18–$22 per hour depending on experience and commitment. A bonus scheme based on individual and company performance can bring this up to over $25 per hour.
