The SAT is composed of two sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math. Each section has a possible range of scores from 200 to 800. Based on accumulated statistics, the average SAT scores for the top twenty universities in the United States are as follows: 711 to 768 for Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, 740 to 797 for Math, and 1450 to 1554 for total SAT score. While these are merely guidelines and every college or university will vary, the importance of exceptionally high SAT scores cannot be underestimated. In order to be competitive for the most respected institutions of higher education, it is imperative to demonstrate a strong performance on the SAT.
One of the most effective ways to take your SAT prep to the next level is by working with a private tutor. Our Cambridge-based tutors are world-class educators and instructors, dedicated to helping others learn and perform to their full academic potential. Our tutors are eager to support future college students as they achieve their own success and are committed to helping learners prepare for the SAT across all stages of the preparation process. No two students learn in the exact same way, so rather than attempting to change how you learn best or trying to piece together your own study plan, let us help you achieve the success you deserve by learning in a way that makes most sense to you. Your private tutor will work closely with you in each session, identifying your personal learning style, noting the strengths you already possess and might be unaware of, and teaching you to overcome any areas of weakness that might negatively affect your SAT performance. We regularly receive student feedback praising our friendly and professional instructors, and they know just how to keep you moving forward and making progress while mastering our respected syllabus, allowing you to prepare for and take the SAT with the utmost confidence.

Meet a Cambridge SAT Tutor: Morenike O.
Morenike O. grew up in Montreal and moved to New York City at a young age. "For as long as I can remember, I've been into pictures and visual media," she recalls. "I can't draw to save my life, but I remember being a kid and creating collages by cutting out pictures from magazines. I liked how pictures could evoke moods and make people feel things, and I knew I wanted to do something with that." Morenike created flyers and online advertisements for her childhood friends, announcing lemonade stands, garage sales, and pet sitting services. "At first it was just me doing things for my friends, but then some of their parents started asking me to help them with things like business cards or branding ideas," Morenike recalls, "and the first time I actually got paid for creating digital art, I felt like I was on top of the world."
Morenike dreamed of attending the Rhode Island School of Design, a world-respected leader in graphic design programs. "I knew getting in there would be like getting into Harvard, so I needed all the help I could find to help me ace the SAT." Morenike began working with a private tutor through our Manhattan Review office, learning how to approach each question to apply the most useful strategic technique. "I took so many practice tests, I began to develop a good sense of how much time I had left in any given section," says Morenike with a laugh. "But after working with my tutor, I knew I was ready to take the test, and I wasn't surprised by anything on it." Morenike's hard work paid off, and she obtained an almost perfect SAT score, earning herself a spot at the Rhode Island School of Design, as well as generous financial aid.
After graduating with a degree in graphic design, Morenike accepted an advertising position in Cambridge and after working hard to build up her portfolio, she slowly began taking freelance work, finding her own customers and creating beautiful, eye-catching designs for clients. Morenike eventually started her own advertising and branding company focusing on digital media, and while she loved being her own boss and setting her own schedule, something was missing. "I wanted to do more than just educate the public about companies or products…I wanted to have a positive impact directly on people's lives." Morenike had completed student teaching projects during college and was familiar with leading online and in-person workshops, which led her to completing a Master of Teaching certificate from the University of Southern California. "There are a lot of similarities between tutoring and working with ad clients," Morenike shares. "In both instances, I'm presenting someone with something I want them to remember. The question is, what's the best way to help the material make enough of an impact so that it is, in fact, memorable?" Applying her knowledge and skills to our study syllabus, Morenike quickly became one of our most popular SAT tutors, particularly for students who identify as visual learners. When she isn't preparing the next generation of high school students for college success, Morenike enjoys skateboarding, volunteering at the local Humane society, and going out into nature to improve her photography skills.
