SAT Private Tutoring in Champaign (Illinois)
Are you a Champaign-based student seeking to obtain the highest possible score on the SAT? If you are in need of the most effective and comprehensive SAT preparation resources, look no further than the standardized test prep experts at Manhattan Review. When it comes to learning new and important academic information, many students learn perfectly well in classroom-style group settings, gaining useful benefits from interacting with peers and seeing their learning improved by others' questions and comments. Other students, however, know that they do not perform at their academic best in a group setting. They worry about not grasping information as fast as other students and fear that they will hold the group back. Alternatively, these students may feel frustrated when they have mastered a particular concept but cannot move forward until the rest of the group can demonstrate similar mastery. If you find attempting to learn test-related information in a group more distracting than helpful and know you remember concepts best through one-on-one instruction, consider working with one of the knowledgeable private tutors at Manhattan Review.

Meet a Champaign SAT Tutor: Carmen A.
Carmen A. was born in Argentina but moved to Washington, DC, with her family as a teen. Carmen had dreams of becoming a professional illustrator and graphic designer. She worked hard during high school, and developed an impressive art portfolio in addition to chairing academic committees and serving on the student council. Her diligence, combined with a very high SAT score, earned Carmen a place at the University of California at Berkeley, where she chose to major in graphic design. Carmen worked in the university's learning center for four semesters, helping others master topics that came easily to her, and she quickly discovered how much she enjoyed helping others learn.
After graduating from UC Berkeley, Carmen remained in California and taught art classes at a local college while also working as a freelance artist. Carmen went on to obtain a master's degree in teaching from Santa Clara University, and when her former college roommate accepted a job in Champaign, she invited Carmen to move with her. Carmen was excited for a new adventure, and after relocating, she obtained a position teaching art in an after-school program. She also soon joined the team at Manhattan Review, and students consistently praise her helpful memorization techniques, as well as her strong time management skills. When she isn't helping the next generation of college students master the SAT, Carmen can be found shopping at the local farmer's market on weekends and trying out new restaurants with friends.
