Meet a Manhattan SAT Tutor: Karen C.

Karen completed her Master's degree at the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University. Here, she specialized in art history, particularly concentrating on 19th century French art and turn-of-the-century expressionism. Karen has been tutoring for seven years. She worked as a writing tutor at NYU's undergraduate art history department and later served as a TA for French and post-modern European paintings. As Karen advanced in her artistic pursuits, she began to relish most teaching others how to tap into their potential. In fact, Karen recognized that articulating concepts and communicating effectively were in of themselves an art form.

Karen has expanded her tutoring services to offer more one-on-one practice and assistance, focusing on SAT test prep. She recognizes that her own scholarly journey began with a high score on the SAT, which landed her an undergraduate career at Brooklyn College in New York on a full scholarship. Karen also works as an art teacher at a local Upper East Side high school. When she's not prepping students on the art of the SAT, you may find her at her favorite yoga studio.
