Meet a Portland SAT Tutor: David E.
For the past six years, David has been working in classrooms and private tutoring sessions where he has coached upwards of 400 students in a wide range of subjects. He discovered his love of teaching while studying for his undergrad diploma from the University of Washington. David saw that he could manage his tuition costs while helping others. Then, David tutored his peers all during his time at graduate school at Cornell where he achieved his Masters in Cognitive Psychology.
Now as a Manhattan Review SAT prep coach, David is keenly aware of his student's varied learning styles and updates his coursework accordingly. He understands both how to motivate young scholars whose parents enrolled them in his courses and those who have enrolled themselves. He constantly is looking for new ways to inspire and engage his students by utilizing his Cognitive Psych degree and coursework focused on the psychology of learning.
Over the years, David has learned how to spin our world-class curriculum to reach his students and in turn has received high praises on his end-of-course evaluations. Moving to Portland was an obvious choice after his time spent in Seattle during undergrad where he fell in love with the beautiful Northwest. Thankfully, David will tell you that Portland has no professional football team as he has intention of following any other team than his beloved Seattle Seahawks.
