TOEFL Tutoring in Princeton (New Jersey)
Students required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) generally need more assistance in some testing areas than in others. Many students understand English well enough, but struggle with being understood while speaking the language. It is common for students to have more trouble writing than reading English. Manhattan Review is a worldwide test prep company that offers customized TOEFL tutoring to meet individual TOEFL preparation needs, and we also offer group TOEFL prep classes and TOEFL practice tests. Manhattan Review has been devoted to student achievement since we first opened our doors in 1999. Unlike other test prep companies, we pay special attention to the unique test prep requirements of international students, who have always made up a large percentage of our clients. Our TOEFL instruction is informed by the international character of our business, and is therefore superior to the TOEFL prep offered by companies that mainly serve American students. Give us a call today, and let's discuss it further.
Manhattan Review develops personalized learning plans for each TOEFL tutoring client. These individual learning plans account for specific strengths and weaknesses in TOEFL subject matter, prior academic study, optimal learning style, and cultural background. Because there is no all-encompassing TOEFL standard, we begin the learning process by determining whether or not a student even needs to take the TOEFL at all. The conditions for TOEFL exemptions are often set at the departmental level. The master of health care delivery science program at Dartmouth College, for example, grants TOEFL waivers to applicants who have lived in an English-speaking country for at least three (recent) years. If we conclude that a student is required to take the TOEFL, we then research the scores that student will need in order to enter their chosen degree program. The highest standards, which can be defined as minimum scores of 100 or above, are generally reserved for undergraduate applicants to the most selective universities (e.g., Harvard, Yale, or Princeton). It is difficult to make other broad statements about the TOEFL due to extreme institutional, departmental, and program-based variation in minimum TOEFL levels.
Manhattan Review's TOEFL prep courses and private tutoring have helped thousands of students satisfy the English language proficiency requirements of undergraduate and graduate degree programs at Princeton, Oxford, Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, UC Berkeley, the University of Virginia, the University of London, and many other elite post-secondary institutions around the world. Our former TOEFL clients have become established professionals at many of the best companies in the United States, including United Technologies, Dow Chemical, Goldman Sachs Group, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Berlitz Corporation, Applied Logic Corporation, and Church & Dwight. Manhattan Review's TOEFL prep courses and private tutoring help our students learn to function in American academia, and our TOEFL prep services lay a foundation for later professional accomplishment.
