Other students, however, know they do not perform to their full potential when attempting to learn complex information in a group setting. They worry about slowing the group down or holding them back because they need to work at a slower pace. Meet a Santiago TOEFL Tutor: Rohan V.
Rohan V. was born in Chennai, India, and lived there for the first thirteen years of his life until his mother accepted a position with a large tech company in Silicon Valley. Rohan loved working with computers and even built his own from spare parts he acquired. Rohan worked very hard in high school and obtained an impressive ACT score, which allowed him to attend Stanford University, where he majored in computer science. After graduating from Stanford, Rohan went on to obtain a master's degree in computer science, as well as a TESOL certificate, from the University of Southern California. He then happily accepted a position with an international non-profit organization focused on improving access to technology in underserved areas around the globe.
Rohan traveled the world for more than ten years, living in Bali, Senegal, Korea, and Brazil before eventually settling in Santiago. While he loved his work with computers, he also enjoyed helping others master complex information, and he knew firsthand the important doors a knowledge of the English language had opened for him. Rohan was thrilled to learn about Manhattan Review's local office, and he was quickly welcomed to the team. His students appreciate his patience, as well as his encouraging style of teaching. When Rohan isn't setting the next generation of college students up for their own successes, he can be found creating app-based programs to help non-native speakers learn English and visiting art galleries with friends.
